My Uncle Dom

Words cannot express the sadness I feel, not only for my loss, but for the loss my Aunt Melanie and my cousins Rob and Chris are feeling right now. My Uncle Dom passed away shortly after 12:30pm today after a courageous fight with cancer. Family surrounded him during his last moments and the love felt in the room was undeniable. He fought till the end and waited long enough to meet his granddaughter (only 6 weeks old) for the first time, before letting go. I am so thankful for the opportunity Scott and I had to be there with my family at his bedside. That we were able to see him and say our good-byes. He was one of the hardest working men I have ever known and also had the biggest heart. His smile was always warm and welcoming and I will greatly miss his big bear hugs and the way he rolled his eyes at something dumb. It's moments like these that make me so thankful for my testimony of the gospel and of my Saviour, Jesus Christ. To know that life doesn't end and that my Uncle is better now, free from his cancer and his pain. Please keep my family in your prayers, that we all might have our Saviours peace and comfort during this difficult time.
